North ✕ South is a graphic design & web development company based in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
We work with small businesses and non-profits to develop their brands, build an online identity, and give a voice to their causes. Our services include web development and hosting, graphic design, print production, and digital management consultation. Custom solutions are our specialty!
Our History
North ✕ South is a collaboration between the husband-and-wife team Rob McFadzean and Stephy Miehle. We began working together remotely and across a very long distance: USA to Australia. Our design and development skills are very complementary, and we enjoy solving problems together. As we closed the long-distance gap, we decided to formalize our small business partnership.
Aside from the opposite hemispheres, Stephy is from the North side of Chicago, North America. Rob was born in South Africa and grew up in South Australia. Together, we share a love of travel, maps, cooking, and (of course) design.

Creative DirectorStephy has been a freelance designer and developer for 10 years. She earned her MS in Communications Design from the Pratt Institute in New York. Passionate about education, she is also a Digital Media instructor at McHenry County College.
